Ticket to Ride! Several versions but our faves are USA, Europe, and Rails & Sails. We are addicted and no family gathering is complete without at least one game. Also love phase 10, Scattergories, and Pictionary

I’ve never played Ticket to Ride. Does it take a long time to play? And is it hard to get started if no one in the group has never played before?

It's about a 40 min game, and no it's not hard to learn. You are basically planning train routes across a country; I'd suggest starting with USA, it's the most basic. Once you have that down, you can move on to others. The other country versions (Germany, Switzerland, etc) each have one 'variation' that's a bit different, but as I said, we prefer USA and Europe. Rails & Sails is harder as it's boats and trains and is a map of the whole world.

My husband is a huge board game nerd lol so we have different kinds in our home that we play. Some of my favorites that we have played together have been Gloomhaven , smash up, Santorini, exploding kittens , and aquatica . It’s hard for me to get into games at times but these ones I have enjoyed my time playing especially since my husbands introduces me to such odd games lol. But we have been thinking about trying twilight imperium , it’s definitely intimating to me however !

I like Snakes and ladders, Monopoly and Cluedo. The classic board games are the best.
