Hi Abby!

I also struggle with motion sickness in cars, boats, with video games and occasionally on planes - especially when turning or landing. I find that I do better with food in my stomach. Eat before the plane and after (I always feel gross right after landing and eating helps) and bring snacks for during the flight when you get motion sick. It seems counter intuitive, but starting to eat right when motion sickness hits helps to calm my stomach(specifically for planes). Hopefully this helps!

Hi Natalie! I asked a pilot friend of mine in January, as I recently developed motion sickness on planes, but not cars. Turns out a lot of airlines now are not using as much air conditioning to save money. She suggested bring a soft ice pack on the plane and holding it on your neck or head as that can help. Magnesium vitamin s are also linked to reducing nausea. Xo

Yes! I always get hot and have to put the AC on my face, good tip!

Thank you! I will for sure try the magnesium too.

Hey! Hope to hear more about the travels and that experience of being protested against in an upcoming podcast episode! Do we have a date and time for book club? I have some evening conferences I hold with students/parents and just want to make sure I’m not scheduling anything for book club time! Just started reading last night and I already have some OPINIONS!

I'll be announcing it in the next edition of my newsletter which comes out tomorrow!

Welcome home, Abby! Your absence was definitely felt, but it sounds like you had a really interesting adventure! Hopefully we get to hear about it in more detail in an upcoming podcast?

I also get sick on planes. I was almost not allowed to fly on one of my connections during COVID because the connection was so close that I was still feeling sick from the previous flight (it was less than 20 minutes between landing and boarding), and they told me that I had "COVID symptoms" and couldn't get on the plane! Fortunately I had my husband with me, who was not feeling sick and was able to assertively explain the situation and get us onto the flight without too much of an issue.

I'm so glad you're safe after all the craziness! It sounds like they were trying to "protest" by making you look stupid (asking you questions they knew you wouldn't have answers to), but that all they managed to do was make themselves look immature.

So glad you were safe! I went to Middlebury and I loved my experience, but sadly it is the first school ever to physically attack a conservative speaker. Xo

As a student graduating from undergrad in just a few days and as someone who leans left-of-center, the extreme leftist environment on my campus is warping my view of reality. I can’t wait to be back home in the suburbs soon!
