Classic Style Inspo
Dressing up for prom doesn’t have to mean wearing something immodest! Looking feminine and beautiful is so much more classic than showing off every little part of your body. I love these girly dresses from Ivy City Co!
Things I’ve Been Loving: Takeya Water Bottle
I recently bought this water bottle on a whim at TJ Maxx, and I’m in love! It keeps ice frozen for what feels like 24 hours, which is amazing for summertime. I love that I can fill my water bottle with ice cold water in the morning and still have ice cold water in the afternoon. I’m a huge fan!

RECAP: Protestors, Traveling to Missouri and New York, And Giving Two Speeches With YAF on Campus!
Hello friends! I hope you’re all doing well - it’s been a crazy few weeks for me, but now I can sit back, relax, and reflect. I’m finally done with my insane travel schedule and I can settle back in at home. There’s laundry to do and floors to clean and nap schedules to adhere to, and man, am I glad to be home! I love my “mundane” life and it’s chores and tasks.
So, last week I traveled to Missouri to give a speech at Truman State University, and this week I traveled to New York to give a speech at SUNY Stony Brook. The title of my speech? “Welcome to 2023: Where Men Suck, and Women Don’t Exist.” (The whole speech and Q&A from Stony Brook will be posted on YAF’s YouTube channel on Tuesday, May 9 if you’d like to see it.) The speech focused on the importance of understanding the beautiful differences between men and women and shoring up traditional families in order to strengthen our society.
I am so blessed because my father traveled with me for both trips. He works remotely, and if he can get internet on the plane, he’s good to go! We got to share some wonderful father-daughter bonding time, which we both cherish. But getting to Kirksville, Missouri and Stony Brook, New York was not easy, let me tell you! First of all, getting flights to St. Louis out of Southern Florida is complicated. We ended up having to fly out of one airport and fly back to another airport. Luckily, the flights to New York were much simpler, so that was nice. But the second part of the equation is that I’m not the happiest flyer. Sometime in my early twenties, I developed motion sickness on airplanes. It’s not true of every flight, but I often feel very nauseated, so flying is not my favorite activity. I’m curious: do any of you have a similar issue?
Now, once we arrived to St. Louis, we still had to drive three hours to Kirksville - and we ended up driving there and back in one day, so altogether we drove six hours! In New York, it wasn’t quite as bad, but we still had to drive over an hour to get to Stony Brook. So, when I say we traveled to get to my speeches, I mean WE TRAVELED!
At Truman State University, right before I went in to speak, the College Republicans chapter told me that the Communist Club had showed up to listen to my speech. That was funny, to say the least. Part of me finds it hard to believe that a communist club still exists because you would hope that people understand history well enough not to actively root for a system that has killed hundreds of millions of people. And yet, they were there! Now, I will say that I really appreciated that, for the most part, even the students who disagreed with me were respectful. But it was an interesting experience to hear someone argue that capitalism has caused the breakdown of the family when Karl Marx and Friedrich Engel were so actively trying to destroy the family to their benefit.
Now, the story was a little bit different at Stony Brook. I got a text from the YAF organizer on site a few hours before my speech that read: “Just writing to see when you think you’ll arrive on campus - the police would like to know so that they can escort you into the building safely.” Immediately, I was a little concerned. I responded, “Thanks! Is there a safety concern we should be aware of?” That’s when we found out that the socialist club on campus were planning to hold a protest. Out of an abundance of caution, the campus police provided their services and protection. A reddit thread even went up about the event.
The campus police were incredibly kind and escorted us to the back of the building to make sure we avoided the protest, and they were there the rest of the evening to make sure nothing went awry. Members of the socialist club ended up coming into the speech, and their form of protest turned out to be getting in line for the Q&A and asking me about…pokemon? As I know nothing about pokemon, I found this to be a silly and immature stunt, but at least that’s all it was! I got some interesting questions during the Q&A segment, including from a transgender man (AKA a biological woman) who was not too happy about my speech, but overall, it was a really fantastic experience.
And now I’m home! After a whirlwind few days, I am happy to be safe and sound back in my own bed, with my baby and my husband and my routine. I love speaking to students on campus and getting a chance to support conservative youth as they navigate the Leftism of universities, and it was an honor to meet so many bright young men and women. I look forward to speaking again this summer, although I hope the travel will be just a little simpler the next time around!
How are you all doing? I’m hoping to get back onto Instagram and YouTube in the next week or two, and I look forward to seeing you all in the comments!
Hi Abby!
I also struggle with motion sickness in cars, boats, with video games and occasionally on planes - especially when turning or landing. I find that I do better with food in my stomach. Eat before the plane and after (I always feel gross right after landing and eating helps) and bring snacks for during the flight when you get motion sick. It seems counter intuitive, but starting to eat right when motion sickness hits helps to calm my stomach(specifically for planes). Hopefully this helps!
Hey! Hope to hear more about the travels and that experience of being protested against in an upcoming podcast episode! Do we have a date and time for book club? I have some evening conferences I hold with students/parents and just want to make sure I’m not scheduling anything for book club time! Just started reading last night and I already have some OPINIONS!
