Hello lovely friends and welcome to today’s discussion thread! It’s Purim today, a Jewish holiday celebrating the amazing story of Esther, and that got me thinking. Which woman in the bible do you look up to? Or if you aren’t religious, who is someone in history that you look up to? I can’t wait to hear your thoughts!
I was going to say Ruth, but since Rachel said Ruth, I will say Esther. (I have been thinking about her a lot because it's Purim) She was courageous but faithful to her family, community/people, and to God. She really is the definition of a classic woman! I also like how she did what was right after struggling with the decision to go to the king. She was not perfect but definitely a lady to look up to! Happy Purim!!
One of my favorite heroines from the Bible is Ruth. I’m always so inspired by how loyal she was to her mother-in-law Naomi and how brave she was to go live in a new land where she was sure to experience hardship and an uncertain future. (And, as a single woman myself, her love story with Boaz gives me hope!)
First of all let me wish everyone a Happy Saint Patrick's Day! I would post a ton of green clovers if I could! I wore my Green today and all this week to avoid being pinched by a leprechaun ( It is Irish tradition that you must wear the Green to avoid being pinched by leprechauns). Sneaky little things... My wish for all of you is that the best day of your past be the worst day of your future! Slainte!
I am Catholic so of course my favorite woman in the Bible is Mary, Mother of Jesus! She was the first disciple... and from the Annunciation to the Nativity to the Crucifixion was a servant of God like no other. Mary was willing to submit her life to God's plan no matter what it would cost her. I really admire that!
For me, the woman I look up to most from the Bible is the Blessed Virgin Mary. Blessed is she who believed that the LORD would fulfill his promise to her!
I feel like I look up to Eve, because she lived in nature in the nude and ate plants, she didn't kill animals for food or clothing. I love that, Eve pre forbidden fruit eating.

That's beautiful!

Aww, I really love Hannah, too!
