Hello classic crew and welcome to this week’s discussion thread! Today, I want to know - what’s something you’ve been doing or working on lately that you’re proud of? It could be getting into a routine, a new project at work, or even exercising more regularly! Share your thoughts below :)
In my teens, 20s, and early part of my 30s, I focused a lot on what I call "brain stuff." First academics, then a career in the sciences. When I turned 35, I had back pain from bad posture and years of being stooped over behind a microscope. In the last 5 years, I started putting more focus on "body stuff." I just turned 40 almost 2 months ago and I'm proud to say that I've paddled (SUP'd) fjords, oceans, and rivers around the world, sent my first V4, and learned to Wing SUP in 2 days. Also tried aerial yoga and did pretty well thanks to all that rock climbing. Not too bad for an old nerd, right? Also, fixed my posture. :)
This is a great question. I am proud of the fact that I had my daughter 3 months ago, and 2 weeks later took the Bar exam (while pumping the whole time). I still don’t know if I passed, but I felt a tremendous sense of accomplishment doing that. And I am also very proud that I have applied myself to being a stay at home mother right now with the same zeal and joy that I apply to my passion for the law.
This goes back a few years, but I am proud to say I left an extremely abusive relationship with a man and never, ever went back. It was one of the hardest things I ever did, but was one of the best decisions of my life!
I'm really proud of how much I've been reading! I hit a reading slump a few years ago, but have bounced back and just finished my 26th book of this year! I feel like my early-mid 20's is a great time to soak in as much knowledge and wisdom as possible, so I can leverage it later.
I just had my son (still in the hospital, actually.) I'm most proud of my two babies 🧡💛They’re the two little loves of my life.
Oh my gosh!!!! You should be so proud!!
Congrats mama! I had my first 3 months ago and named her Alexandra; you have a beautiful name!
Awe I love that! Thank you! And congrats to you too mama!
I was Confirmed with the Catholic Church this weekend. It took me 10 years to reach this point, and I am just so excited. :)
Wow! So happy for you!
