Love the idea to use 15 minutes to tidy or plan out your day.

I love this! 15 minutes can be soooo powerful! I don't have kids yet, but I often use 15 minutes to take my dog to the mailbox and back or to devote to playing with her. It's very valuable, much in the same way that it is with small children!

One use of 15 minutes that you didn't mention that I think is also really valuable is hygiene or exercise! With a busy life, as a mom, with a job, as a homemaker, etc. sometimes it can be hard to take care of ourselves. I have found myself often doing a quick 15-minute intense workout or taking those minutes to jump into a shower that I may have been too exhausted for the night before!

There was this idea about time I read a long time ago...perhaps from the book Stargirl? A girl’s quirky family removed clocks from the walls so they wouldn’t worry so much about how they were spending time. She and her mom felt more comfortable living in the moment. But of course there are potential drawbacks like not being able to time food cooking or arriving late.

For me, I could probably use 15 min. to rest my eyes and stay hydrated.

I feel like you could get around the food issue if you were really dedicated to it! My stove timer broke and we didn't have any other clocks in the kitchen at the time, so I ended up using dishwashing to time food in the oven because I knew roughly how long it took me to wash so many dishes

Depends on how many dishes you’ve got to do.

Well certainly, but I just meant that there would be ways around the lack of a timer issue. If you know how cooked your food gets in the time it takes you to read one page of your book, for example. Or if you know that in the time it takes you to mop a specific room of your house your food will get so cooked. I definitely think it would take a period of adjustment and trial and error, but it could totally be done

Question for you, Abby! What’s your opinion on IVF?

I know as a prolife woman, I think it’s immoral to implant knowing that many embryos/babies will die. Also as a catholic woman I believe that the create of life shouldn’t be outside the marital act of sex. But, I’m just so curious what your personal view!

Podcast question:

Abby, how do you deal with and process negative comments on your posts, videos, etc.? Unfortunately, by virtue of being in the public eye and on the right, I see comments on your posts that are full of hate and ignorance all the time. Do these ever get to you or bother you? Do they slide off like water off a duck's back? Is there anything specific that you do that you find helps you ignore or move past these types of comments?
