Honestly, I am sad that girl chat will be leaving. It's a big part of why I subscribed and I love the chill atmosphere of just being able to hang out and chat.
I completely understand how hard it can be to be scheduled every single week multiple times, but I think that this change to paid one-on-ones will make it more inaccessible for a lot of people.
For myself, for example, I am getting married in 24 days, leaving my job in 20 days, adding an addition to my home in the spring which will likely be around $15k (CAD), and trying to have a baby. Add to that the fact that 75 USD is over 100 CAD, and it's something that I will likely never get to participate in.
Additionally, I can see the one-on-one sessions ending up being more work for you, as you may end up now scheduling 3 or 4, or more, sessions a month, at all different times, rather than one Thursday evening chat.
I also think the structure sounds like it will be a lot more formal. Instead of just hanging out, it's going to be specifically about getting advice, information, etc. It's the type of thing that I think a lot of people who are in happy, healthy, long-term relationship likely won't need to utilize, since they are likely here more for the community than the advice (as I am).
I absolutely love your content and I will definitely continue my subscription, but I will also really miss the girl chats, especially since I am unlikely ever to use the replacement.
Hi Tess! Thanks so much for your feedback. One of the great things about book club and movie club is that there's an informality to the discussion that leaves room for more girl chat time, too. We can also specifically make that a goal at the end of our meetings, if we so choose! As far as the one-on-one sessions, they can be formal or informal - it really depends on what my subscribers are looking for. For some, it might be a more serious discussion of their wardrobe or helping to pick out the things they would need in their makeup bag. For others, it might be chatting about relationships or career paths. It's really flexible in that way, and I think it will be a great way to offer more tailored advice to my subscribers.
