After being not interested in dating in college due to the culture of it. Raised a Catholic, I knew I wanted to date for marriage. I recently just ended my first relationship and was after hearing this podcast and a different Catholic woman podcast, where you had talked about chemistry and comparability, it had really helped me. Not having too much dating experience, I believe I had confused passion with anxiety. I did have chemistry with my relationship. But the anxiety of losing someone was what was causing such heartache. It was also confusing in the sense that we could hang out all the time but not get tired of each other. However that anxiety was still there with pressure.
I also think it is important when dating someone that you still have your sense of self and don’t get lost in someone. When there isn’t that balance you can lose your confidence. Which I’m working to get back!
I just wanted to say thank you for doing what you are doing. Hearing these words have helped me a ton during a hard breakup. It truly is inspiring what you are doing with speaking about being a classic woman. It can be hard for young woman in todays culture and feel alone with wanting to have morals and values in relationships. However, your words have helped a great deal! Thank you so much!
I'm so glad I could help! Dating is really hard but just know that every relationship teaches you something really important. I hope you'll join us for book club tonight!
Can I join the discussion even though I haven’t read the book? I would have liked to read it but was a little late joining. However, I would be interested in the conversation!
Hi Abby! Thanks so much for the podcast! I love that you’re doing them now! I completely agree with everything that you said, and really appreciate your Abby-flare on the subject. I’m in a relationship right now but am still figuring out the chemistry part of it. I’m so grateful of your tips and I’ll definitely be thinking about what you said while continuing to evaluate my relationship. Thanks so much for all you do!
The way I knew my partner was the one was we could spend all day with each other doing just regular things like cooking, cleaning, working, and be super content.
