I recently shared this on Twitter:
If you click on it, you’ll notice the number of hateful comments and retweets it received. And to be fair, I’m not surprised. I posted it knowing that in 2021 saying only women can bear children is a controversial statement. I posted it recognizing that by not calling myself a “birthing person,” I was offending those out there who can’t even define what a woman is.
Ladies, this is what we are up against.
Embracing femininity and womanhood in this day and age is an act of rebellion. Recognizing that men and women are different is heresy. Understanding the biological differences between the sexes is offensive. Knowing that men don’t birth babies offends those women who have “transitioned” and still have uteruses.
What’s down is up, and what’s up is down.
When we talk about classic living and traditional values here at Classically Abby, we are fighting for truth and womanhood itself. By living our lives in an essentially natural way, we are going against the grain. By accepting reality, we are offending all those who won’t.
Learning about your womanhood, learning how to become the best woman you can be, is so hard to do in 2021 if you weren’t raised with it. That’s why I started Classically Abby. It’s only become more relevant over time. I hope for Classically Abby to be a resource for the women who want to be mothers and wives, who want to learn how to cook a good meal for their husbands, and who want to learn how to balance work and life. I hope to teach women how freeing it is to accept our natures instead of fighting them in order to fit in with a feminist narrative. It’s not just good to be true to the way God made you, it’s the best thing you can do, for yourself and everyone else. It’s a lovely thing that we, as women, were made to be different and unique in our own special way.
Often we are told that we shouldn’t want to embrace a womanly role because women are oppressed. Well, that’s not true. Today, in the West, we aren’t oppressed by some sort of patriarchy. But what is oppressive is the erasure of women and womanhood; the idea that women don’t birth babies, but that “birthing people” do; the idea that children are not fed by “breastfeeding,” but by “chestfeeding;” the idea that it’s a milestone for women when the “first female four-star officer of the PHSCC” wasn’t born a woman but merely adopted womanhood at 54-years-old; the idea that all of women’s accomplishments must be erased to make room for men who believe that being a woman is a state of mind.
The same activists who claim to fight in our name, on behalf of all women, are selling us out and erasing our existence. And if we don’t fight for our femininity, if we don’t fight for our womanhood, everything beautiful about what we are will be lost.
When you think about who you are, when you look in the mirror and wonder, “What’s my mission today?” know that it’s simple: you just need to continue forth knowing who and what you are, and everything that it means to be a woman.
