MARK YOUR CALENDAR: Book Club Is July 26th!
This month we are reading nonfiction (we switch up month-to-month) and the book we will be reading is…Conservatism: A Rediscovery. I asked you all this month to help me choose our book club selection, and you chose this!
Our Book Club discussion will take place on Wednesday, July 26th at 8:15 PM EST. I wanted to give us all some extra time to make our way through this book as it’s more involved than our last reads. Looking forward to seeing you all then!

Classic Style Inspo
I’ve shared Moriah Robinson’s channel before, and I love her July 4th dress recommendations! Wearing a pretty dress in red, white, or blue is a great way to celebrate American independence.
Things I’ve Been Loving: Catrice Concealer
Jessica Braun, another YouTuber, recommended this concealer on her channel and I’ve been loving it ever since I started using it. It’s easy to blend out, provides great coverage, and looks really nice by the end of the day. Highly recommend!

This July 4th, I'm DONE Apologizing.
Hello lovely friends! Are you all getting ready for July 4th? So are we! Jacob’s sister and her family arrived in town a few days ago, so we’ve been spending our time shopping, swimming, laughing, and just enjoying ourselves. But we are so excited to celebrate our country tomorrow! We’ll do a big BBQ, set up some sparklers for the kiddos, and maybe see some fireworks.
It’s been a busy week getting Mr. Baby adjusted to our “new digs” at my in-law’s house, but we are getting there! We baby-proofed most of the house and we had to get his night time sleep back on track, but thank goodness, I think we have finally settled in. I cooked for Shabbat and made a delicious stew, tamale pie, asparagus, and rice, and we will definitely have some leftovers for the week, too!
One thing I love about Jacob’s family is how much they encourage the men and women to split up sometimes and just enjoy one another’s company. For example, my mother-in-law, sister-in-law, and I went out for a few hours yesterday afternoon just to shop, catch up, and talk about all things womanhood, while the men sat down last night and had some time to talk about things from a male perspective. It’s a huge blessing and one I don’t take for granted!
So, July 4th is here. That means it’s time for the Left to come out and virtue-signal by waving their American flags while simultaneously berating our country for not being a communist-hellhole.
I’m here to say: I’m done apologizing. I’m done apologizing for loving America and everything it stands for. I’m done apologizing for its flaws and mistakes, even as I can recognize they exist. I’m done apologizing for this country’s very existence, for the beauty of the values and traditions it was built on. I’m, simply, done.
America is the greatest country on earth, and we are LUCKY to have been born here. There is nothing better than to wake up each day knowing we are free, that we get to live our lives as we see fit as one nation, under God, with liberty and justice for all. I am tired of every celebration needing to be tempered with apologies, with regrets.
On Mother’s Day, almost every single post I see says something to the effect of, “To all the people who aren’t mothers, who don’t want to be mothers, who don’t have mothers, etc.” I am not saying that there’s no place for that discussion, for sympathizing with those who have suffered, who dream of motherhood or a good relationship with their mother. But is Mother’s Day really the time to bring it up? Can’t we just…celebrate it? Allow it to bring us joy? The same goes for July 4th.
Every July 4th, we aren’t allowed to celebrate the absolute glory that is America, the incredible story of our country’s fight for independence and the amazing documents that showed we were at the beginning of something brave, new, and good. We must also include either the list of this country’s failings, or decry the constitution which established America as the best place in the world to live. The Woke can’t even begin to understand their own privilege as citizens of this country as they try to tear down the systems that gave them their voice in the first place.
America is great. It’s good. That’s it. Full stop. On July 5th, if you want to talk about ways we can fix our government, ways we can make this country better, sure. Call me then. But on July 4th, you’ll find me waving my American flag, drinking a (non-alcoholic) beer, and praising God that my family is here, living in the greatest country on earth.

Was that quote on courage inspired by the chapter on heroic people in Lifegiving Home? Love it!
I think Australia is the greatest and luckiest country in the world. But maybe that is me being patriotic!
🤣
I did get a kick out of you saying this is the day the left come out to borate usa for not being a communist-hellhole! 🤣
I will just ask you Abby, did you ever apologise?
