How To Incorporate Classic Pieces Into Your Wardrobe This Fall
Happy Tuesday, my lovely friends! How are you all doing? I am so excited to be getting back into a routine after the craziness of the Jewish holidays. Every morning, I’ve been waking up, making myself a cup of coffee, doing yoga, and going for a walk. It has been so refreshing to do the same thing every single day on a schedule! And this past weekend, Jacob and I spent all of Sunday getting our lives together after the holidays by taking down our Sukkah, returning things to Amazon and Home Depot that we didn’t need, and starting to unpack the boxes currently in our garage. Then, to celebrate, we went out to dinner for the first time in a month and sat outside in perfect 70 degree weather. It was both a fruitful and productive day!
But speaking of perfect weather, we are deep into fall and it’s lovely. As the seasons change, I often like to spruce up my wardrobe a bit with new and old pieces that feel appropriate for the time of year. I absolutely love starting to wear oranges, browns, and rust colors that reflect the colors of the leaves, and it’s so fun to take out the pieces I haven’t worn for many months and return them to my closet.
So today, I want to talk about how to incorporate classic pieces, both new and old, into your wardrobe this autumn. There are some pieces that never go out of style, and I’m here to encourage you to re-wear what you already own, as well as to choose pieces to add to your wardrobe that will continue to bring you joy year after year. So let’s get into it!
Classic Trench Coat. There truly is nothing more classic than a trench coat. It keeps you warm, it goes with everything, and it cinches in at the waist for a feminine look. Worn open or closed, a trench coat is a must-have for any woman’s closet. Over the years, I’ve always owned at least one trench coat and it always made me feel my best when I put it on. If you already own one, take it out and wear it as often as you like. If you don’t, set aside a little bit of money to buy a coat that will last you years.
Brown/Rust-Colored/Orange Dress. Wearing the colors of autumn is such a wonderful way to embrace the season! A velvet dress like the one above is particularly unique for the fall, but you can wear a button-down dress, a corduroy dress, any fabric you want and the color tells the whole story. These colors look good on so many skin tones, and you can find the perfect color that works for you.
Brown Ankle Boots. Brown ankle boots never go out of style. They elevate every outfit and make you look like you put in extra effort, even if you didn’t. I’ve had a pair from Target for about 5 years and I still love them as much as the day I bought them. They go with everything and are perfect as the weather cools down!
Cozy Sweatshirt That Brings You Joy. Did you expect this one? I bet you didn’t! But a cozy sweatshirt is so perfect for fall. It keeps you warm, it’s perfect for a casual fall day, and it looks wonderful with a nice pair of jeans or a pair of leggings (if the sweatshirt is long enough to cover your bottom). Choose one with a phrase or place that means something to you, and every time you put it on, you’ll smile.
A Lovely Scarf. One of my favorite tricks to brighten up your face is to wear a scarf in the color that is most flattering on you. A scarf is right up under your chin, so choosing a color that looks good on you will bring out all of your best features! Whatever color you love to wear - find a scarf in that shade and wear it all season long.
Gold Chunky Earrings You Adore. Big earrings in the fall are great for a few reasons. First, because we are usually wearing chunky scarves and coats, we are also usually tying our hair up to prevent it from getting tangled. Now, you’ve got the perfect canvas for big earrings! Second, big earrings are such a statement and gold mimics yellow and orange in the fall leaves. Find a pair you love or revisit your jewelry collection and pull out a statement pair!
Long Cardigan. I call my long cardigans my socially acceptable robes because they act and function just like a robe yet they’re actually stylish! You can throw one on over a fitted dress or put it on over a pair of jeans and it adds the perfect amount of nonchalance as well as coziness.
An Easy Pair Of Jeans. Last but not least, it’s always nice to have at least one pair of jeans you love to wear in the colder months. The cut doesn’t matter - skinny leg, straight leg, or bootcut - but if it makes you feel good in your skin, keeps you warm when it’s cold out, and pairs well with the rest of your clothes, you’ll have a staple item that you’ll wear again and again.

Classic Style Inspo
I love getting my hair done as it gets colder outside, and I recently dyed my hair back to its original color! I’ve been wanting to go back to my roots (no pun intended), and as the seasons change, a darker hair color gets me in the fall spirit. If you are also looking for a way to spruce yourself up this season, consider getting a haircut or putting some lowlights in your hair.
Things I’ve Been Loving: Fall Eyeshadow Palette
If you’re looking for the perfect eyeshadow palette for fall, look no further! This is the only eyeshadow palette I’ve been using this season and I love it. I’ve been trying to whittle down my makeup collection and only use what I really love, and this made the cut!
