Fashion doesn't have to be expensive! I got these pants on Amazon, this top from Costco, and the shoes from Target. Just something to keep in mind!

5 Reasons To LOVE Your Commute
Hello classic crew and happy Thursday! Welcome to another edition of my newsletter. I am currently using the time while I get my hair cut and colored to get some work done, including writing this newsletter! I already ran to Costco this morning to pick up some things for my husband's birthday, and I went for a long walk with my husband and Mr. Baby early this morning. I'm feeling pretty productive, I gotta say!
Earlier this week was Purim, and it was a blast. We saw my family before the festivities kicked off and everyone had dressed to the nines, which was fantastic. Then we headed to our synagogue to hear the megillah (the story of Esther) and to eat and celebrate with friends. The next day, we drove around our neighborhood delivering Purim baskets, getting ice cream and coffee at our friends pop-up stands, and going to a seudah (a Purim meal) at our friend's house. Not bad for a Tuesday!
And after all that, we headed straight into Jacob's birthday festivities. Last night, we hosted my siblings for a game night, which was hilarious. Tonight, just the two of us are going to a Tiki bar, which should be so fun. And this weekend, two of Jacob's friends are staying with us while we have a Shabbat party with all the men from our shul on Friday night, followed by an all-day boardgame extravaganza on Saturday.
It's definitely been busy around here!
So today, on my way to Costco, I had 20 minutes to CHILL. OUT. I had a few minutes to myself where I didnโt have to do anything besides be in the car. Of course, Mr. Baby was in the backseat, but he was happily playing, so I could relax. And that got me to thinking.
There are a lot of reasons to love your commute.
Now, a super long commute is rough, I'm not denying that. But 15 to 30 minutes can actually be really nice. I love driving, and I love having some alone time to do my own thing. Even when I wasn't driving, I loved riding the subway in NYC to get to where I needed to go.
Thereโs something really special about having a task that takes you from point A to point Bโฆand thatโs it. While youโre commuting, you are doing what you need to do, which means you can use that time anyway you want. And this applies for any solo travel you have during your day! It doesnโt just apply to your drive to and from work. It can also apply to driving to Costco, the grocery store, or any other errand youโre taking care of. So here's how you can enjoy your commute and actually look forward to it each day.
Listen to a podcast. Man, I love catching up on podcasts while I'm commuting! It's the perfect time to give my attention to something I love listening to, whether it be funny, educational, political, or all of the above. The Classically Abby Podcast is a great option, but some others I enjoy are Office Ladies, The Simple Sophisticate, and The Rest Is History!
Call a friend. This is maybe my favorite thing on this list. How often do you actually get the opportunity to call someone and catch up? I can guarantee it's almost never. I pretty much only call people when I'm in the car. And that makes driving places special! I had a long drive today, and I used that time to catch up with two friends I hadn't spoken to in forever and it was just so lovely.
Listen to an audiobook. If you don't listen to audiobooks yet, your commute is a great place to start! Choose a book you've been interested in reading, buy a copy on audible and start listening. It's so much fun to be transported to another world or learn something valuable during a time that might otherwise be boring but now is a little pocket of your day you actually look forward to.
Enjoy the quiet. Sometimes, I'll get in the car and do absolutely nothing. I just want to enjoy the solitude, enjoy letting my mind wander, enjoy letting my imagination run wild. It so nice to give myself the chance to just have quiet. Give yourself this gift every once in a while. Allow your mind to rest - it will thank you.
Sing along to music you love. The other day, I was driving to a doctor's appointment. I was feeling a little low. All of a sudden, I thought to myself - why not roll down the windows, play my favorite song, and sing along? In an instant, I went from feeling blue to being in an awesome mood. Don't underestimate the power of singing your lungs out. It's therapeutic!

Hi Abby! I am a huge fan of your content! Iโm 22 years old and about to graduate from college. I plan to go on to my dream graduate school program to become a School Psychologist and serve the needs of neurodivergent children. I look forward to having a career that helps children while also making sure my future family will be financially sound. I was wondering, what tips do you have for young adults and saving? I want to make sure my future family is taken care of. How can we start being financially smart while we are young adults? I tend to drink quite a lot of Starbucks as a college student (lol), is that something to cut down on? Thank you so much and have a lovely week! ๐โบ๏ธ
I practice singing. I have heard some people do prayers, but I like to be more focused for those:
