Happy Tuesday, classic crew! This past week has been a bit difficult with Baby Boy Roth (make sure to follow me on Instagram for more consistent updates in my stories), and I was worried that I wouldn’t have an opportunity to write up my weekly article for you all! But, as usual, everything changes day-to-day with a baby and I have a few moments to put this piece together.
I can’t believe that Mother’s Day is this weekend - and I’m so excited to celebrate it for the first time as a MOM! Growing up, my parents didn’t really care about Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. They used to say, “Every day is mother’s day and father’s day because we all show our love to each other all the time.” But now, being a mama, I can say that I might have a different philosophy. I love the idea of a special day to celebrate moms and dads, not just as unique individuals (for example, on their birthdays), but for the very special role they have within their families. Right now, my husband will celebrate me as the mother of his children. In the future, our children will celebrate me in my role as their mama. And when Father’s Day rolls around, we will do the same for Jacob.
Honestly, I think it’s really cool to have a whole holiday become relevant to me, not as the giver but as the receiver. That’s pretty dang awesome.
But in today’s article, I thought I would share some ideas for Mother’s Day gifts you can get on short notice! Many of these are Amazon, so if you have Prime you should be able to receive them all in time to give them as gifts.
Mama Necklace
First up is this Mama necklace! I have a necklace just like this from Etsy that my husband bought for me for Mother’s Day, but this option is 14k gold-plated and more affordable. A new mama would love to wear this and show off her new status.
Initial Necklace
Next up, another necklace - but this one has the initial of the new baby! I love the idea of an initial necklace. I have one of these myself with my son’s first initial on it! I actually wear both necklaces together and they make me so happy.
Seraphine Gift Card
A gift card to Seraphine or another store that sells nursing dresses would be a great gift for the breastfeeding mama. I love the feminine styles at Seraphine - this dress is particularly pretty!
Ulta Gift Card
On the subject of gift cards, a gift card to Ulta would make a great gift! A new mom might like something to make herself feel beautiful - or she might just love a good concealer to make up for the lack of sleep.
Mom-Themed Picture Frame
I recently gave my mother-in-law a picture frame with a photo of her and my son for her birthday, and she loved it. It made me think what a lovely gift that would be for Mother’s Day! Find a great photo of you and your mother or grandmother, a beautiful picture frame that expresses your feelings, and watch her get teary-eyed.
Bath Tray
What mom doesn’t need a good, long, luxurious bath? This bath tray is the perfect way to say thanks to a mom who needs a bit of time to relax and feel pampered.
Mama Sweatshirt
Last but not least, this sweatshirt is an adorable way to say, “Hey! I’m a mom now!” I would love a sweatshirt like this because, let’s be honest, it will ALWAYS be relevant. Being a mom is a full-time job!
And that’s it for my 2022 gift guide! Share in the comments below which of these gift ideas is your favorite and have a happy Mother’s Day!
